Account Manager

The Account Manager serves as the primary contact between client and agency and takes the lead on developing digital strategies and managing clients’ digital-centric development projects (websites, email nurtures, SEO/SEM, and other digital marketing campaigns). The Account Manager identifies client needs and opportunities, proactively leads and manages client expectations, and provides strategic direction to the client and agency team. The Account Manager stays up to date with the latest marketing tech stacks to identify opportunities for improvement and adjust digital strategies accordingly. This role will ultimately be responsible for advising clients on B2B and B2C interactions, managing digital projects, and optimizing the quality of Cargo work by way of collaboration with their fellow peers. 

 

The Requirements 

  • Minimum 4 yr. college degree – marketing related focus and internship a plus 
  • 4+ years of direct account management experience with a focus in digital marketing, preferably within Agency setting 
  • Strong knowledge of online digital marketing platforms and familiar with utilizing tools such as Eloqua, Salesforce, Figma, SEMRush, Google Ads, Google Analytics, and more 
  • Voracious learner and creative problem solver 
  • Positive mindset, self-motivated, and willing to expand knowledge base 
  • Ambitious self-starter who is self-driven to succeed 
  • People-person who enjoys a collaborative and fast-paced working environment 
  • Very strong attention to detail and organization 
  • Excellent and persuasive written and oral communication  
  • Fluent in MS Office products and strong ability to perform online and secondary research 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Works with Account Team Lead to keep them informed of the status of digital marketing strategies including plans, meetings, current/future projects, and growth opportunities 
  • Build and implement tailored digital marketing strategies with clearly defined objectives for each client 
  • Reviews analytics data and tracking metrics to analyze the effectiveness for digital campaigns and projects 
  • Resolves client issues or escalates them to Account Team Lead 
  • Leads and manages the client and works directly with the client daily 
  • Leads, manages, and collaborates daily on work with client-centric team 
  • Supports and participates in the strategic briefing and planning process 
  • Creates client documentation including Meeting Agendas, Status Reports, Call/Meeting Reports, Proposals, Presentations, and other client communications/correspondence 
  • Monitors client business, competitors, and industry to gather research and intel 
  • Reports intelligence and POV to client and Cargo team, when appropriate 
  • Provides client research necessary for brief development and Cargo team education 
  • Works with development team and Account Team Lead to develop estimates: scope, time, and cost
