About John Moore

John Moore is President and CEO of NEXT Upstate LLC – the Greenville S.C. Chamber’s award-winning economic development organization that supports early-stage knowledge-based companies.

John co-founded NEXT as a part-time program in 2006 along with eight software entrepreneurs.  Today, NEXT supports over 100 early-stage ventures and has successfully launched three entrepreneur facilities to date – the NEXT Innovation Center, NEXT on Main, and NEXT Manufacturing.  NEXT also created the Upstate Carolina Angel Network and a Venture Mentoring Service in partnership with MIT.

Previously, John’s career included brand marketing roles with The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, GA, and Kimberly-Clark in Neenah, WI, including merging two consumer products into a single $500 million brand.  He also held accounting positions in media & banking and has been a principal in several startups.
